Marguet Pére et Fils Shaman Rosé Grand Cru-2019

$ 71.87

Marguet Pére et Fils Shaman Rosé Grand Cru‑2019 is a biodynamically farmed, vintage Rosé Champagne from Champagne Marguet Père et Fils, a family‑run grower‑producer based in Ambonnay in the Montagne de Reims sub‑region of Champagne, France (all vineyards here are classified Grand Cru). The Marguet estate, led by Benoît Marguet and tracing its roots back to the 19th century, works biodynamically in both vineyard and cellar, hand‑harvesting grapes and using gentle, natural winemaking practices to let terroir shine. This 2019 vintage Rosé Grand Cru is crafted from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced from old vines in Grand Cru plots around Ambonnay and Bouzy, with the Pinot Noir contributing delicate colour and red fruit character and the Chardonnay providing fresh acidity and finesse. Vinification includes indigenous yeast fermentations with minimal sulphur and extended lees ageing in barrel and tank, followed by traditional bottle fermentation for fine, persistent bubbles and a dry, refined profile. In the glass it typically shows a salmon‑pink hue with vibrant aromatics of red berries, wild strawberry and citrus zest and subtle floral and spice nuances. The palate is dry and lively, with a harmonious blend of juicy red fruit, mineral tension and elegant, persistent mousse, leading to a crisp, long finish. Aging on lees adds complexity and texture, making this both expressive and refined. This Champagne pairs beautifully with seafood and shellfish (especially oysters and prawns), sushi and sashimi, light poultry dishes, creamy cheeses and fresh salads, or can be enjoyed as an elegant aperitif for special occasions. Why we love this wine? There is a purity and expressive character takes our breath away!
