Espiers Côtes du Rhône 2022 is a classic Southern Rhône red from Domaine des Espiers, an organically farmed, family-run estate in the Vallée du Rhône (Vacqueyras area) of France founded in 1989 by Philippe Cartoux, with viticulture respecting the land and traditional methods that let the region’s terroir express itself. The domaine works certified organic across its vineyards planted to classic Rhône varieties, producing wines that marry fruit intensity with savoury depth. The 2022 Côtes du Rhône is a Grenache-led blend (approximately 70 % Grenache, with Mourvèdre and Syrah) that was vinified traditionally and aged primarily in concrete vats to preserve bright fruit character and organic purity. On the nose it offers ripe red and dark fruit aromas with spice, garrigue herbs and gentle earthiness, while the palate is generous and approachable with juicy fruit, balanced acidity and soft, supple tannins that make it enjoyable both on release and over the next few years. This Côtes du Rhône pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted meats, Provençal stews, herb-spiced lamb, charcuterie, hearty pastas or rustic Mediterranean fare, and its harmonious balance and medium body make it a very versatile everyday red from Southern France.
